Based in Salem, Oregon, Saber Corporationis a leading provider of information technology solutions based on Oracle database technology with particular expertise in Healthcare, Government, Education, and Manufacturing. Some of Saber's customers are Canon USA, City of Chicago Office Of Budget & Management, and a number of Oregon state agencies.
Saber Corporation's growing reputation for delivering total-solution projects on time and on budget resulted in a dramatic increase in Saber Corporation's business and thus their workforce, necessitating a move to much larger facilities in Salem in mid-2005. The local telephone company required up to three months to provide Saber Corporation with 10 Mbps Internet access, but Saber Corporation's customer commitments and the need for new personnel in the new facility to be immediately productive did not allow for such a wait.
Saber Consulting contacted Freewire Broadband in Portland to see if they could provide 10 Mbps Internet Access to Saber’s new facility more expeditiously than the local telephone company.
Solution
Although Freewire Broadband did not then provide service in the Salem area, Freewire Broadband was able to expand its extensive Fixed Wireless Network in the Portland metro area into Salem and thus provide 10 Mbps Internet access to Saber Consulting’s new facility… and did so with two weeks.
With the 10 Mbps Internet access arranged, Saber discussed another pressing issue about their new facility with Freewire Broadband - the estimated $35,000 cost of updating network cabling. Freewire Broadband installed a state-of-the-art Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) which resulted not only in a savings of $22,000 but provided Saber Consulting with the ability to install new workstations rapidly and flexibly inside their new facility.
