Currently more than 3,300 students attend classes on the university’s residential campus in Newberg, at its Portland, Salem, and Boise centers, and at other teaching sites in Oregon.

The Challenge George Fox University was desperate to increase their Internet Bandwidth, however, options were based on expensive Telco T1 circuits. There were no high bandwidth fiber options running along 99W corridor.

The Solution Freewire offered an alternative opportunity for access to higher bandwidth via a directed signal from a nearby tower on Chehalem ridge. This also allow us to connect to our Portland Center allowing us to treat our remote campus as part of the Newberg network.

Summary The network solution from Freewire has provided us with a reliable WAN and Internet connection that has proven to be critical to the growth of George Fox University. We have since increased Internet requirements through our relationship with Freewire by utilizing a fiber connection to our campus that they manage. We still rely on the Freewire radio based solution as a totally separate Secondary connection. I could not have created a more dependable Internet network solution for our university. Freewire provides us with approximately 150 MB of Internet that we have configured between our Newberg and Portland campus in a failsafe design all managed by Freewire for a market competitive price.
